How we can help
Is this different from a taxi?
Yes, significantly. Your caregiver assists you from your front door, into the car and to your destination, staying with you if you would like company, helping with mobility, and making sure you are settled safely back home afterwards.
Can you drive my car?
Yes. If you prefer your own vehicle, your caregiver can drive it provided it is comprehensively insured. Alternatively, they can use their own vehicle, which is fully insured for business use, and we can accommodate walkers and foldable wheelchairs.
Will you stay with me during the appointment?
That is entirely up to you. Many clients appreciate having a companion in the waiting room, or even during the consultation, for extra support. If you would rather have privacy, we can wait in the car or return to collect you at a set time.
Can we make multiple stops?
Yes. This is your time, so if you want to visit the doctor, stop at the chemist and grab a coffee on the way home, we are happy to accommodate your schedule.

I recently used NND Joondalup for NDIS care whilst on holiday. Although the branch is new, the staff were incredible. I do not have photos or videos to post, but I can say without fear of contradiction that Nurse Next Door , Joondalup, is an excellent care agency. I moved to WA from Queensland in around July this year and have found the agency to go above and beyond in helping me with the confusion of moving to WA which has many procedures different to Queensland. Without the help of staff I would have been completely lost in the maze of differences I have encountered, but staff knowing the difficulty of settling into a new state have been wonderful. I would also like to say, that as an elderly person with a terminal illness, their care has been outstanding. I could not have wished for better. There were some small issues in the early stages getting to know a new care agency and settling into a new state, but these were sorted with care and patience, for which I am very grateful. Coming home from hospital after surgery I didn't want help. I wanted to be independent and do things for myself but I very quickly realized that I did need help and couldn't always keep asking family due to their own commitments. I was told about Nurse Next Door and they came to see me. We had a chat about my needs and goals and what I would like to do out and about the community. Nurse Next Door have been a wonderful addition and I've never looked back. They are always polite and helpful and never make me feel I cant do it - or just do it for me. I wanted to retain my independence but I've also gained friends. All the support workers are absolutely fantastic and I couldn't recommend them more highly.
