How we can help
Do you provide transport?
Yes. Your support worker drives you or travels with you to appointments, social visits, shopping and more, and can sit in at appointments to take notes so nothing is missed.
Is this just a taxi service?
No, it is much more. A taxi driver drops you at the kerb. Your caregiver assists you from your front door, helps you into the car, stays with you during the activity if you wish, helps with mobility or bathroom breaks, and makes sure you are settled safely back at home afterwards.
Can I go to evening events?
Yes. Our services are available 24/7, so if you want to attend a wedding, a concert or a family dinner in the evening, we can arrange support to get you there and back safely.
Will the caregiver stay with me?
That is entirely up to you. Some clients prefer their caregiver to stay with them for company and conversation throughout the activity. Others prefer to be dropped off and collected again at a set time. We adapt to your preference.

Nurse next door have been so easy to deal with from the first phone call when we were in desperate need and have continued to provide the same standard of care months on. The carer provided is the perfect match for my Dad and is always interested in listening to what dad has to say, she is so helpful and caring in all aspects. I can also say that about any temporary replacement carers that have been used as well. There were a few hiccups with our home care provided and Nurse next door dealt with all that as well. I would highly recommend NND to anyone needing care for the elderly loved ones.

My dear 43-years-old, NDIS pensioner son, has been a client of Nurse Next Door (NND) in Melbourne CBD since 2021. NND has been a wonderful care agency for him in that time. The different NND Carers he has had in these 3 years have generally been excellent for him — On time, disciplined, hard-working, interested, sensitive, supportive, and friendly. NND managers and administrative staff have also been very efficient, effective and most helpful, supportive and respectful in their interactions with us, particularly in their planning, organising, and clear and frequent communication.
