Who provides the care, Nurses or Support Workers?
It depends on your clinical needs. Registered Nurses (RNs) perform specific procedures like catheter changes or complex wound care. For high intensity tasks like PEG feeding or bowel care, we use highly trained Caregivers. These staff are signed off by a Clinical Nurse Specialist and receive ongoing supervision to ensure safety.
How do you ensure clinical safety?
We work under a clear Clinical Governance Framework. Every complex care client has a designated Clinical Lead who builds your care plan, trains staff to your specific needs, and carries out regular reviews so all health protocols are followed.
Can I use my NDIS funding for this?
Yes. We are experienced in supporting participants with High Intensity Daily Personal Activities funding. We work with your Support Coordinator to build a roster that maximizes your budget while meeting your clinical requirements.
What specific conditions can you support?
Our team supports a wide range of complex needs, including Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and Cerebral Palsy. If you have a specific diagnosis, please contact us to discuss your care plan.
What happens if my regular carer is sick?
Consistency matters for safety. We build a care team around you rather than relying on one person, so multiple staff are trained on your specific equipment and routines. If your primary carer is unavailable, another team member who knows you well can step in.
Can you provide 24/7 coverage?
Yes, we specialise in 24/7 complex care. We build rosters to cover day, evening and overnight shifts, including active and inactive overnight support, so you are never without the clinical support you need.

I do not have photos or videos to post, but I can say without fear of contradiction that Nurse Next Door , Joondalup, is an excellent care agency. I moved to WA from Queensland in around July this year and have found the agency to go above and beyond in helping me with the confusion of moving to WA which has many procedures different to Queensland. Without the help of staff I would have been completely lost in the maze of differences I have encountered, but staff knowing the difficulty of settling into a new state have been wonderful. I would also like to say, that as an elderly person with a terminal illness, their care has been outstanding. I could not have wished for better. There were some small issues in the early stages getting to know a new care agency and settling into a new state, but these were sorted with care and patience, for which I am very grateful. Coming home from hospital after surgery I didn't want help. I wanted to be independent and do things for myself but I very quickly realized that I did need help and couldn't always keep asking family due to their own commitments. I was told about Nurse Next Door and they came to see me. We had a chat about my needs and goals and what I would like to do out and about the community. Nurse Next Door have been a wonderful addition and I've never looked back. They are always polite and helpful and never make me feel I cant do it - or just do it for me.
