Who provides the care, Nurses or Support Workers?
It depends on your clinical needs. Registered Nurses (RNs) perform specific procedures like catheter changes or complex wound care. For high intensity tasks like PEG feeding or bowel care, we use highly trained Caregivers. These staff are signed off by a Clinical Nurse Specialist and receive ongoing supervision to ensure safety.
How do you ensure clinical safety?
We work under a clear Clinical Governance Framework. Every complex care client has a designated Clinical Lead who builds your care plan, trains staff to your specific needs, and carries out regular reviews so all health protocols are followed.
Can I use my NDIS funding for this?
Yes. We are experienced in supporting participants with High Intensity Daily Personal Activities funding. We work with your Support Coordinator to build a roster that maximizes your budget while meeting your clinical requirements.
What specific conditions can you support?
Our team supports a wide range of complex needs, including Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and Cerebral Palsy. If you have a specific diagnosis, please contact us to discuss your care plan.
What happens if my regular carer is sick?
Consistency matters for safety. We build a care team around you rather than relying on one person, so multiple staff are trained on your specific equipment and routines. If your primary carer is unavailable, another team member who knows you well can step in.
Can you provide 24/7 coverage?
Yes, we specialise in 24/7 complex care. We build rosters to cover day, evening and overnight shifts, including active and inactive overnight support, so you are never without the clinical support you need.

Nurse Next Door are not just an NDIS provider they really care for their participants. Shanna periodically calls in to check how my husband is going which just gives that personal touch. Administratively, if we need to change transport to an appointment last minute they are just a phone call away no matter what time of the day - even weekends! Then getting back with it resolved and organised pretty much straight away! This gives us piece of mind as we would have been charged and lost nNDIS hours for missed / cancelled appointments last minute by the other providers. Not to mention how wonderful the support workers are that transport my husband. Always friendly , conversational and eager to help him into the car. He’s built a rapport with them and that he even invites them and shows them our pets, etc…. after the trip. At Christmas time we get invited to an end of year party catered by Nurse Next Door as a thank you to the participants and their workers, where they present awards to their workers as well as. It’s lovely to meet everyone face to face- Shanna, Dee, Daniel and the team. We even had a surprise Christmas package dropped off at our front door! As my husband’s condition progresses I know we’ll need to rely more on the nursing assistance his support workers can provide.
