Is this "live-in" care or shift work?
We offer flexible models to suit your needs, including rotating shifts, sleepover and overnight care, so someone is always alert and available. If live in care, where one caregiver stays with you, sounds like a better fit, just call our local care team on 1300 600 247 and we'll help you find the right option for your situation.
Is this cheaper than a nursing home?
24/7 home care is a premium service because it offers a 1 to 1 carer ratio, compared to the 1 to 15 ratio often found in facilities. While it's a financial investment, it allows your loved one to keep their home, their pets and their independence, which many families find priceless.
Can I use my government funding (Support at Home or NDIS)?
Yes. While 24/7 care often requires a private contribution due to the high number of hours, we can fully utilise your Support at Home funding or NDIS budget to cover a significant portion of the costs. If you're still waiting on approval, or would simply like to start sooner, you're welcome to begin privately and switch across once your funding is in place. Your Care Designer will help you structure the budget to make the most of your available government funds and keep your out of pocket expense to a minimum.
How quickly can we start?
We can often organise a 24/7 care team within 24-48 hours. Because this service can be accessed privately, there are no government assessments or waiting lists to navigate before we begin.
What if a caregiver calls in sick?
One of the biggest benefits of choosing a managed provider like ours is reliability. We have a large team of staff and support available around the clock, so if a regular caregiver is unwell, we'll arrange a replacement as quickly as possible and make sure you're never left without care.
Can we book this for short-term respite?
Absolutely. We provide 24/7 care for short periods, such as post-operative recovery or while family caregivers go on holiday. You do not need to sign a long-term contract.

I contacted Nurse Next Door (NND) late in 2022 regarding supplementary care services that became necessary in support of my mother. Sacha returned my call and confirmed that NND could meet all of our requirements which were quite extensive and I knew would be challenging. Initially the caregiving requirement was only for a few hours per week but then circumstances changed suddenly and NND were able to quickly scale up to 24x7 for several months. This continues to date. NND were able to sensitively and professionally handle mum's condition. This was important when transporting mum to and from medical appointments - for example dentists, etc. Recently, mum moved from one residential aged care facility to another and NND caregivers proved critical to what was a successful transition. Their smiling familiar faces and ability to coordinate with other parties, in providing continuity of care to mum throughout the transfer, was just brilliant. Sacha's responsiveness never wavered when problems were encountered or the situation required prompt action. Always ready to assist and/or advise. Respectfully offering many insightful suggestions on how to deal with several of the caregiving twists and turns we faced as a family. There was such comfort in knowing that we could rely on Sacha and her team. Over and above the call of duty! Thankyou.

My mother is 94 and was lonely, isolated and struggling to remain independent. Through the government funding that allowed us to engage Nurse Next Door, my mother's life has changed completely. Nurse Next Door's care for my mother three times a week has provided her with companionship and someone to help with meals and essential things like changing her bed and washing her laundry. Her mental health is vastly improved and she is now calmer and happier. Her life revolves around "Fiona days" - when she knows she will have company and loving attention. My life has changed too - in the background I am dealing with schedulers, nurses and financial people who respond to my emails very quickly and help me resolve problems, manage our annual budget and liaise with me professionally and quickly regarding Mum's physical and mental needs.
