Who provides the care, Nurses or Support Workers?
It depends on your clinical needs. Registered Nurses (RNs) perform specific procedures like catheter changes or complex wound care. For high intensity tasks like PEG feeding or bowel care, we use highly trained Caregivers. These staff are signed off by a Clinical Nurse Specialist and receive ongoing supervision to ensure safety.
How do you ensure clinical safety?
We work under a clear Clinical Governance Framework. Every complex care client has a designated Clinical Lead who builds your care plan, trains staff to your specific needs, and carries out regular reviews so all health protocols are followed.
Can I use my NDIS funding for this?
Yes. We are experienced in supporting participants with High Intensity Daily Personal Activities funding. We work with your Support Coordinator to build a roster that maximizes your budget while meeting your clinical requirements.
What specific conditions can you support?
Our team supports a wide range of complex needs, including Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and Cerebral Palsy. If you have a specific diagnosis, please contact us to discuss your care plan.
What happens if my regular carer is sick?
Consistency matters for safety. We build a care team around you rather than relying on one person, so multiple staff are trained on your specific equipment and routines. If your primary carer is unavailable, another team member who knows you well can step in.
Can you provide 24/7 coverage?
Yes, we specialise in 24/7 complex care. We build rosters to cover day, evening and overnight shifts, including active and inactive overnight support, so you are never without the clinical support you need.

I contacted Nurse Next Door (NND) late in 2022 regarding supplementary care services that became necessary in support of my mother. Sacha returned my call and confirmed that NND could meet all of our requirements which were quite extensive and I knew would be challenging. Initially the caregiving requirement was only for a few hours per week but then circumstances changed suddenly and NND were able to quickly scale up to 24x7 for several months. This continues to date. NND were able to sensitively and professionally handle mum's condition. This was important when transporting mum to and from medical appointments - for example dentists, etc. Recently, mum moved from one residential aged care facility to another and NND caregivers proved critical to what was a successful transition. Their smiling familiar faces and ability to coordinate with other parties, in providing continuity of care to mum throughout the transfer, was just brilliant. Sacha's responsiveness never wavered when problems were encountered or the situation required prompt action. Always ready to assist and/or advise. Respectfully offering many insightful suggestions on how to deal with several of the caregiving twists and turns we faced as a family. Nurse Next Door's care for my mother three times a week has provided her with companionship and someone to help with meals and essential things like changing her bed and washing her laundry. Her mental health is vastly improved and she is now calmer and happier. Her life revolves around "Fiona days" - when she knows she will have company and loving attention.
