How we can help
Is this different from a taxi?
Yes, significantly. Your caregiver assists you from your front door, into the car and to your destination, staying with you if you would like company, helping with mobility, and making sure you are settled safely back home afterwards.
Can you drive my car?
Yes. If you prefer your own vehicle, your caregiver can drive it provided it is comprehensively insured. Alternatively, they can use their own vehicle, which is fully insured for business use, and we can accommodate walkers and foldable wheelchairs.
Will you stay with me during the appointment?
That is entirely up to you. Many clients appreciate having a companion in the waiting room, or even during the consultation, for extra support. If you would rather have privacy, we can wait in the car or return to collect you at a set time.
Can we make multiple stops?
Yes. This is your time, so if you want to visit the doctor, stop at the chemist and grab a coffee on the way home, we are happy to accommodate your schedule.

We have recently engaged Nurse Next Door, I really liked the approach Lauren had when meeting my Mum. The focus was on finding out what she has stopped doing and would like to start again, rather than being all about the medical side of things. Both Tim and Lauren spent a lot of time talking to me about Nurse Next Door before we made a time to meet. I'd highly recommend Nurse Next Door: -The management are professional, pick good staff and friendly. -Their Support Workers: - are matched well with me, my interests and spiritual beliefs. - are always punctual (if there's a delay in traffic or prior client, I receive a phone call by administration staff to advise). - well dressed (in bright pink uniform tops). - Office Management and owners willingly come and do shifts if someone calls in sick. - Any new support workers are always accompanied by management at first visit, not just arrive and not introduced to them. - Support Workers have ideas that I may not have thought of, about where to get something, or go for a drive somewhere discussed with me to assure I'm happy with suggestion. - I feel safe in all Nurse Next Door cars (which includes that their cars are maintained, clean and never have to stop for petrol. - I’ve never got lost getting to an appointment with their Support Workers (they have google maps on mobile phone or their modern car has the capacity to locate destination. - I look forward to working with Nurse Next Door, not only over the festive season as I don't have family or a holiday to go to but for the years to come.

Once we identified the needs and days of service that we required, Michelle and Tim offered a quick and prompt Nurse/Aid immediately matching our unique, tailored needs. Shannon is fantastic, and the service also provided team leaders attending, making sure all needs are satisfied by both parties. The services involve walks, shopping, general house duties, meal preparation and really anything that we ask for. Perfect. Cannot praise them enough.
