How we can help
Do you provide transport?
Yes. Your support worker drives you or travels with you to appointments, social visits, shopping and more, and can sit in at appointments to take notes so nothing is missed.
Is this just a taxi service?
No, it is much more. A taxi driver drops you at the kerb. Your caregiver assists you from your front door, helps you into the car, stays with you during the activity if you wish, helps with mobility or bathroom breaks, and makes sure you are settled safely back at home afterwards.
Can I go to evening events?
Yes. Our services are available 24/7, so if you want to attend a wedding, a concert or a family dinner in the evening, we can arrange support to get you there and back safely.
Will the caregiver stay with me?
That is entirely up to you. Some clients prefer their caregiver to stay with them for company and conversation throughout the activity. Others prefer to be dropped off and collected again at a set time. We adapt to your preference.

My 90 year old dad suffered a fracture in his neck and after a stay in a rehabilitation hospital he was able to come home thanks to the wonderful care and services provided by Nurse Next Door. Thanks to the thorough organisation and planning and with client consultation with Winnie and Will, dad’s transition back to home was a smooth one. Nurse Next Door risk assessed my parents’ house and were able to provide mobility aids and make sure that regular activities like showering were easier and safer for dad. They even counted how many steps he would have to take from, for example, the bed to the bathroom. The entire family has benefitted from the stellar people from Nurse Next Door who have come into dad’s life at a critical time and we are so appreciative. Even mum has had help with household chores and shopping. We have seen mum and dad grow in confidence with the knowledge that they are getting expert, professional and ethical care. The staff are highly trained. Most are fully qualified registered nurses and this is a stand out feature of Nurse Next Door because their medical knowledge and understanding has meant that dad’s neck brace, for example, can be taken on and off in the correct manner and without further injury. Nurse at home listens to clients and their needs and requests and are very accommodating. There is genuine kindness and compassion. Their caring approach and their positive encouragement make a huge difference. Special thanks goes to Winnie, Francine, Roselle, Belinda, Butch and Darren. They are outstanding people.
