Managing prescriptions can be stressful. Whether you need daily reminders or administration by a Registered Nurse, we handle the complexities to ensure your routine is accurate, compliant, and stress-free.

We understand that medication needs vary from simple reminders to complex clinical care. Your dedicated Care Designer works with you, your GP, and your pharmacist to determine the right level of support, ensuring safety and compliance with Australian standards.

Medication needs range from simple daily reminders to complex clinical care. Your dedicated Care Designer, a Registered Nurse, coordinates with your GP and pharmacist to arrange the right level of in home care, delivered by local caregivers and nurses who understand your routine, whether you require aged care or ongoing clinical support.
Our caregivers live and work locally, so care at home is never far away, anywhere in Geelong.
Prompting is when a caregiver provides a friendly reminder that it is time for medication and hands you your pharmacy-packed aid (like a Webster-pak) to take yourself. Administering is where a qualified caregiver or Nurse physically prepares and gives you the medication (including injections, creams, or loose tablets) and observes you taking it. We offer both levels of support depending on your needs.
Yes, in many cases. Straightforward injections, such as fixed dose or single dose insulin, may be given by a qualified caregiver. More complex injections, including sliding scale insulin and other clinical injections, are carried out by our Registered Nurses or Enrolled Nurses.
Yes. Medication administration by a nurse typically falls under the Clinical Care funding classification. Your Care Designer will help you budget for these visits to ensure your health needs are prioritised within your funding level.
No, you are not required to have a Webster pack. We can support medication administration directly from the original packaging. However, to help you maintain independence and ensure medications are taken safely and consistently, pharmacy-packed aids such as a Webster pack or sachets may be beneficial.
We take care of it for you. If your medication changes, our clinical team liaises directly with your GP and pharmacist to update your medication chart and make sure your packs are repacked or updated straight away, so your routine stays accurate without you having to chase anything up.

I am so grateful to Kristy for her exceptional care and kindness to my darling mother. Kristy showed compassion, understanding and an absolute willingness to assist in ensuring Mum was able to spend her last days in our home and did not have to go into a nursing home - an absolute objective, and one which others made me feel was an unrealistic objective. Kristy never made me believe this was not possible. Kristy's nursing skills, in every sense - in practice, in listening and in caring - were exceptional. I had great trust and faith in Kristy and was also able to learn from observing her. Of greatest importance to me, Kristy treated my proud, loving and amazing mum, with great dignity. I will be forever grateful to Kristy and I'm not quite sure she will ever know how much her coming into our lives at exactly the time we needed her means to me and my family.
When my husband Richard had a recent nasty fall and returned home the day of surgery I quickly realised he needed more help at home.I contacted Kristy, the Managing Director of Nurse Next Door (Geelong) for a free consultation. I felt straight away that I’d made the right choice. Kristy promptly put a plan into action. We had 3 support staff 3 times a week for 4 weeks. They supervised/assisted Richard with showering, shaving, dressing and waterproofing of his wound sites, prepared his breakfast, made the bed, tidied up and emptied the bins. Sunny even vacuumed the bedroom. Sunny, Jodie and Michelle were all respectful, friendly, capable and responsible. They always arrived on time and looked very smart in their pink outfits. The support given was invaluable to me. Well done Kristy and the team. I highly recommend Kristy and her team at Nurse Next Door.
Nurse Next Door has made the worst time in our lives more bearable with their wonderful support and care. Nothing is too hard for them and all their employees are kind, professional and very helpful. I can’t fault their service.
It is hard to really describe just what a blessing Kristy's appearance in our lives was. I think many people will relate to the experience of thinking their parents are going along just fine and managing life to suddenly realize that they are not. Dad had been a central person in the extended family, making it his mission to look after everyone and help wherever he could. He'd been doing this for years and I think we all just felt he would go on forever. I was interstate and visiting regularly but probably always seeing him and mum at their best. It seemed a sudden decline when mum rang in tears to say that dad was struggling but in reality, it was a gradual decline over many months. Dad ultimately had a few weeks in hospital and then rehab. During this time, it became very obvious that in order for dad to come home he and mum were going to need help. This was a confronting prospect for a couple that had always managed everything on their own. Mum in particular is very private and quite shy and it was important to find someone with whom she in particular would feel comfortable sharing the very personal experience of caring for her husband. In my initial phone call to Kristy, I explained the situation and she understood immediately what I meant. From the moment she walked in the door to meet Mum and Dad it was so obvious she was perfect. With many years of experience nursing people at their most vulnerable, plus a good country upbringing, Kristy had incredible intuition, empathy and an ability to read people and situations. Mum was immediately, at ease and Dad was chatting away to her like she was a long-lost friend. These incredible personal qualities continued to shine through over the next few months. For both Mum and Dad Kristy became a trusted friend and helped both mum and Dad live their best lives together. Dad was always treated with great respect and kindness and endless patience. On the days when Kristy was not on duty, dad would tell us we were doing pretty well, but not as well as Kristy. This was always followed be a little chuckle. Kristy it was the small things you did that made the difference. Those cups of tea and coffee, taking the dog for a little walk when mum was too exhausted to manage and the long discussions about AFL with dad that just helped so much during such difficult times. You made our lives so much better. Leaders set the tone and culture of a community. Kristy's leadership is marked by compassion and humility and a real love for helping people. Her team at Nurse Next Door are lucky to have her and by example they too have the qualities that matter. We miss dad enormously but so grateful to you Kristy for all you did for him and mum. To anyone out there needing help, I can't recommend Kristy and her team highly enough.
Really highly skilled professional support workers highly recommend for anyone needing above and beyond support
Dealing with Kristy has been efficient, timely and every question I have had has been answered without a hiccup. Care of our Mother is one of the most important and stressful things we have had to do as her children but we feel supported by Nurse next door to treat and care for her as we would, actually they are probably better at it than us. Mum has had Lily, Meg and Eva, coming in to care for her of the morning and she is noticeably happier and more comfortable for the day. I would highly recommend Nurse next door it has made a huge difference for Mum and for us.
