How we can help
Who performs the wound care?
Basic wound care can be performed by our qualified caregivers with the oversight from the Care designer. All complex wound care and wound management is performed by our qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) or Enrolled Nurses (ENs). They are currently registered with AHPRA and trained in strict aseptic techniques and infection control to ensure your safety.
Do I need to buy my own dressings?
Not necessarily. We can work with the supplies you already have, or coordinate directly with your pharmacy to have the right clinical dressings and bandages delivered to your home. Our nurses also assess your wound at every visit to make sure the products being used are supporting healing.
Can you treat diabetic wounds?
Yes. We have specialised experience in diabetic wound management, including diabetic foot ulcers. Our nurses take a holistic approach, treating the wound itself while also monitoring blood glucose levels and providing education to help prevent future complications.
Do I need a referral to book this service?
No, you can book our nurse led team privately without a referral. For complex wounds, we will ask for discharge summaries or care plans from your doctor, so we can collaborate with your GP and keep your clinical care consistent.

Kier sorted everything out super quickly when we moved from the previous provider who we were not happy with and then Mum has had a consistent team supporting her since. I just call and ask for services and they are organised quickly, or Kier contacts to advice what additional services Mum would benefit from - again all sorted out withing a week. Nurse Next Door have been on the ball when Mum needs an ambulance to hospital asap and constantly keep in touch to check in on Mum when she is in hospital. Nurse Next Door Home Care Service Truly is the "girl next door". The first time mum hasn't complained about the carer. She comes in and starts and goes about her duties, she never goes into mum saying " what do you want me to do now". She knows what needs to be done and does it. Mum's other favours is not too much chitchat. Just all the pleasant greetings and how are you today. The 3rd main reason.
